Osborne Store Closing. Last Waltz Sale

As you probably all know, changes are afoot at ITM.  The Osborne Liquidation Sale is in full swing and LAST DAY OF BUSINESS IS JUNE 20th!!!  That’s a Thursday and check the discount schedule as you won’t see these discounts again.

Now there are still changes to come at the mothership store (that’s downtown on McDermot if you must ask) that really have to do with making this whole enterprise look like the industry leader that we are.  That includes renewing our front entranceway, putting a coat of paint on a few things, bringing in counters and storage units from Osborne and changing up the layout of where counters and bins will be for the future.  In other words, kind of a new store layout.

In order to make these changes, THE McDERMOT LOCATION WILL BE CLOSED FROM JUNE 24th TO 27th (Monday to Thursday).  We will reopen Friday June 28th and we should be mostly ready to strut our new stuff.

If you don’t already know, Jay Churko from the Osborne store will now be full time with us at McDermot.  We’re stoked about bringing Jay over as he brings with him a more up to date knowledge of the current scene of new artists and closer contact with local artists and labels.

And speaking of local artists.  We heard your voices loud and clear while recently asking for your insights during our most recent customer surveys.  We took to heart a suggestion from a number of our survey respondents who asked that we provide a space and time for more in-store events.  Specifically local live bands, DJ’s, screenings and other events that we hope connect us to the local scene.  In other words, we want to be more a part of what’s going on in the city and not just a place you buy stuff.  To that end, we’ve hired our very own Special Events Coordinator, Olivia Norquay.  Olivia also comes over from the Osborne store and brings with her experience putting on local shows and her own insights into the local music scene.  You can also hear Olivia (as a rotating host) on a show called The Tonic playing real rock & roll, Monday evenings 7:00 to 9:30 on CKUW 95.9 FM.  Watch for things to get started in July.  Welcome Olivia.

Stay in touch.
