Most-Wanted Music

There is no such thing as a complete list of what we’re looking for.  A good record store will have for sale not only the sort of music featured in our Collection Cornerstones section, but the sort of obscure genre specific records that collectors always read about but were not sold in quantities large enough to make them common.  These rare records command a more collectible resale price and we pay accordingly.  Almost all of our records are in Excellent condition or better.  Best sellers we will resell as low as a VG grade.  Only the rarest records will we consider in grades less than VG.

A Note on Condition of Vinyl

All of our records and sleeves are cleaned, repaired and graded according to an industry standard for record collecting.  Please refer to the Goldmine Record Guide for information on grading your records.  Ideally, the price guide takes into consideration the near mint or “best price” for an item than factors in the condition to better value the item downwards.  So if you ever wondered why we stroke out a price on the price sticker and write a lower one it’s because we’ve graded the vinyl downward based on condition.

Below is a list of the more common Artists we will buy.  As noted, condition is imperative.  Garage salers might want to print off a copy of this list.  And remember, we pay better than garage sale prices for Quality Collectible Music.  I encourage everybody interested in making a bit of money to seek out these artists and I will purchase these in quantity.  Say you’ve got five good playable copies of Led Zeppelin 3, bring them in and I’ll buy them all.

It goes without saying that there are 1000’s of other titles we will purchase but these are the most common, a starting point and you should recognize most of the names.  Also at the end of each section I’ve included a list of record labels that are if interest to collectors.
